For Windows desktops, I would advocate the installation of something
called 'tortoisesvn':

I suggest a NODC help desk ticket to get this installed on everyone's
Windows desktop. I can also setup the Subversion server on frigate.lib.noaa.gov,
but we'll need another help desk ticket to open up the firewall to allow it to work!
